LaMarcus Aldridge Injury Results Confirmed: Torn Ligament, Surgery, Out 6-8 Weeks

Official word on LaMarcus Aldridge's injury is released and its not good.

NBA on ESPN just released news on LaMarcus Aldridge's injury.

LaMarcus Aldridge will miss six to eight weeks after tearing the radial collateral ligament in his left thumb, the team announced Thursday night.

Aldridge will have surgery to repair the injury.

From the Trail Blazers Press Release:

A second magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) confirms that Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge has a radial collateral ligament tear in his left thumb. He will undergo surgery later this week and is expected to be out for 6-8 weeks.

Aldridge sustained the injury in the second quarter of Portland's 98-94 win over Sacramento on Monday at the Moda Center.

If Aldridge remains out of action until March 21st, approximately 8 weeks, he'd miss 26 games in the Trail Blazers schedule.
