The Oregonian's Joe Freeman reports that the Portland Trail Blazers have signed former Iowa State guard Diante Garrett to a non-guaranteed, two-year contract.
The 6'4" shooting guard has played two seasons total in the NBA, averaging 2 points in 19 games for Phoenix in his rookie campaign and 3.5 points in 71 appearances for the Utah Jazz last year. He was traded to Toronto this summer and released.
Garrett's signing marks the second training-camp-oriented move for the Blazers in as many weeks, following the James Southerland deal. Neither contract obligates the Blazers if they choose to waive the player in question.
