CSNNW announced on Monday that the network will televise all of the Portland Trail Blazers' 2014 Las Vegas Summer League games.
The broadcasts will be done remotely: live video from Las Vegas with play-by-play commentary provided in Portland.
Here's a release from the network announcing the plans.
Comcast SportsNet Northwest and the Portland Trail Blazers today announced that all Trail Blazers Summer League games will air live on CSN.
Trail Blazers television broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice and CSN's Dwight Jaynes will call the games live from Portland. CSN Trail Blazers and NBA Insider Chris Haynes will provide reports from Las Vegas, including breaking news and interviews with players, scouts, celebrity attendees and more.
Coverage will expand from previous years, with postgame analysis, talk, highlights and fan interaction after each game. A game wrap-up with Mike, Mike, Dwight and Chris will air immediately after the final whistle, followed by Trail Blazers Pulse, where viewers drive the content using #BlazersTalk.
"We are happy to announce to the fervent fans of Rip City that every Blazers Summer League game will air live on CSN, along with postgame coverage to quench their thirst for more Blazers," said Comcast SportsNet Vice President and General Manager Larry Eldridge. "After such a great run in the playoffs, we're all ready for more Blazers."
"For our fans, Trail Blazers Basketball is a year-round focus, including the off-season when the NBA Draft and free agency drive a lot of the headlines," said Trail Blazers President and CEO Chris McGowan. "Thanks to our partner Comcast SportsNet, fans in Rip City can feed their appetite for Trail Blazers action this summer as we start the countdown to the 2014-15 season."
The NBA officially announced the 24-team field for this year's Summer League last week.
During exit interviews, Blazers coach Terry Stotts said that Will Barton, Allen Crabbe, Joel Freeland, Meyers Leonard, CJ McCollum and Thomas Robinson will all play in Las Vegas.
Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com reports two new additions to Portland's roster...
Veteran point guards Jonathan Gibson, 26, and Bobby Brown, 29, will also be on the roster, CSNNW.com confirmed through their representation. Eurobasket.com reported the agreement last week. They both played in China last season and each averaged over 30 points a game.
Back in May, the NBA officially set the dates for the 2014 Las Vegas Summer League. Games will run from Friday, July 11, through Monday, July 21. The NBA has not yet announced the specific day-by-day schedule.
The Blazers have participated in Summer League every year since 2005, with the exception of 2011, when the lockout wiped out the event.
Blazersedge will provide coverage from Summer League as always.
