The NBA has officially set the dates for the 2014 Las Vegas Summer League. Games will run from Friday, July 11, through Monday, July 21, with the tournament format brought back again this year.
For the second straight year, a champion will be crowned. Last year, the Golden State Warriors took home top honors.
Blazers rookie guards CJ McCollum and Allen Crabbe figure to be the top attractions on this year's squad. Portland does not have a first-round pick in the upcoming 2014 NBA Draft.
Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker and the rest of a strong 2014 Draft crop will likely headline this year's action.
Here's the release from the league.
NBA Summer League tips off on Friday, July 11, at the COX Pavilion and Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas, marking the 10th time the event will be held in the desert. For the second time in the event's history, a tournament-style format will be utilized to crown a champion.
This summer's event will again feature a single elimination tournament schedule that will crown the NBA Summer League Champion on Monday, July 21. Teams will compete in three preliminary round games from July 11-15 before being seeded in a tournament running through the Championship Game on July 21. Each team is guaranteed to play at least five games.
NBA TV will televise NBA Summer League games from Las Vegas with a complete schedule of games and broadcast information to be released at a later date. Additionally, fans will once again be able to watch, via a subscription-based package, every NBA Summer League game live on NBA.com and on the NBA Summer League app.
The Blazers have participated in Summer League every year since 2005, with the exception of 2011, when the lockout wiped out the event.
Blazersedge will provide coverage from Summer League as always.
