Video: Blazers C Meyers Leonard Ejected For Flagrant Foul On Lakers G Kendall Marshall

Portland Trail Blazers center Meyers Leonard was ejected from a 124-112 road victory over the Los Angeles Lakers for a flagrant foul on Kendall Marshall during garbage time.

Portland had the game well in hand, holding a 124-108 lead with less than a minute to play when Marshall pushed the ball in transition. Leonard was clearly subscribing to the "No Free Baskets" approach, but he wound up knocking Marshall out of the air when his left hand yanked down on Marshall's left shoulder.

Replays showed Leonard raising his hands as if he didn't quite realize what he had done, but the referees deemed the play worthy of a flagrant foul 2, which applies to all contact that is deemed "unnecessary and excessive." That designation carries an automatic ejection and Leonard departed with no statistics in just two minutes of action.

Portland improved to 49-27 with its fourth straight victory and now gets two days off before hosting the Phoenix Suns on Friday.
