Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard teamed up with Utah Jazz rookie guard Trey Burke to win the 2014 Skills Challenge at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on Saturday.
Lillard and Burke beat Philadelphia 76ers rookie guard Michael Carter-Williams and Orlando Magic rookie guard Victor Oladipo in the championship round. Lillard/Burke triumphed by 0.1 seconds, posting a time of 45.2 seconds.
Lillard and Burke beat a team of Phoenix Suns guard Goran Dragic and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Reggie Jackson to advance to the finals. Lillard/Burke posted a first round time of 40.6, besting Dragic/Jackson's time of 42.3.
Lillard also won the 2013 Skills Challenge at All-Star Weekend in Houston.
The Skills Challenge is one of five events that Lillard is participating in during All-Star Weekend along with the Rising Stars Challenge (which his team won), the Three-Point Contest (he was eliminated in the first round), the Slam Dunk Contest and the All-Star Game.
