Damian Lillard and LaMarcus Aldridge on Sportscenter

ESPN interviews the two All-Stars expected to champion the Trail Blazers' rise to glory.

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Bob Holtzman of ESPN sat down with Portland Trail Blazers stars LaMarcus Aldridge and Damian Lillard in a segment featured on Sportscenter today. You can see the video below. In the three-minute conversation Aldridge and Lillard talk about their place as one of the best duos in the NBA, battling in a tough conference, becoming elite, learning from "The Shot", becoming the best Blazer of all time, Team USA, and goals for the year.

The striking thing about the presentation isn't what the dynamic duo said. Their answers are what you'd expect, heartening and down the middle. It's amazing how on-point the message has become and how uniformly delivered. You think of years past when the Blazers seemingly couldn't say two words without tripping over them. Now everybody put in front of a microphone is saying basically the same things and delivering fairly well. I'm not sure if that's a sign of team unity, public relations preparation, or making sure exposure is limited to the right people and right topics but the result is more pleasing to the ear than the norm.
