Twitter Reacts To The End Of Blazers' Free Chalupa Promotion With Taco Bell

At the risk of beating a dead horse, here's a quick follow-up on Thursday's news that the Portland Trail Blazers and Taco Bell will no longer be doing their Free Chalupa promotion.

It's no secret that the Chalupas were right up there with in-arena marriage proposals on my list of favorite "Moda Center" experiences to document and dissect. It was fascinating to see the reaction to the "no more Chalupas" news pour in over the last 24 hours. Somewhat incredibly, this seems to have topped the Rose Garden renaming in terms of vitriol (and that was bad), while simultaneously sparking a fairly large contingent of cheering Chalupa-haters.

Below, find a round-up of the reaction sent to the Blazersedge Twitter account. Again, all steps are taken to ensure that this is a representative sample of the responses and all profanity has been removed.

The answers generally seem to break down into a few groups: those happy that what they see as a distraction is going away, those sad that a tradition is being ended, those frustrated that the 2013-14 team's expected offensive prowess might not produce late-night food benefits, those so angry they can't let go of the caps lock key, those who blame Moda Health for the change, those who just want to remember the good old days with Luke Babbitt, and those thinking ahead as to what should replace the Chalupas.
