Michael Lee of the Washington Post reports that the Washington Wizards have agreed to sign Portland Trail Blazers unrestricted free agent guard Eric Maynor to a two-year contract.
The Wizards have agreed to a deal with free agent point guard and former Virginia Commonwealth star Eric Maynor on a multi-year deal, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but it is believed to be a two-year deal worth close to the bi-annual exception (roughly $2 million per year).
David Aldridge of NBA.com has confirmed the agreement on Twitter.
Confirming [Washington Post] story, Wizards agree to sign [Maynor]. Looks like a 2-year deal for bi-annual exception, player option [year] 2.
The Blazers acquired Maynor from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for the rights to Georgios Printezis in a 2013 trade deadline move.
Maynor, 26, averaged 4.5 points and 2.8 assists in 64 appearances for the Thunder and Blazers last year. He averaged 6.9 points and 4.0 assists in 27 appearances for Portland.
The Blazers elected not to issue Maynor a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent.
