Forbes: Blazers' Paul Allen Is NBA's Richest Owner

Forbes Magazine reports that Portland Trail Blazers owner Paul Allen is now the NBA's richest owner.

In its annual list of the world's billionaires, Allen placed tied for No. 53 with an estimated net worth of $15 billion. Last year, he ranked No. 60.

Allen, 60, moved past Mikhail Prokhorov, who owns the Brooklyn Nets. This year, Prokhorov ranked tied for No. 69 with an estimated net worth of $13 billion. Last year, Prokhorov ranked No. 47.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, whose group has an entered into a purchase and sale agreement with the Maloof family to purchase the Sacramento Kings, ranks No. 51 with an estimated net worth of $15.2 billion.

Bill Gates, Allen's Microsoft co-founded, ranked No. 2 on the list.
