Blazers F LaMarcus Aldridge Expects Quiet Trade Deadline

Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge says he expects his team to have a quiet trade deadline.

USA TODAY Sports

Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge told reporters during Friday night's All-Star availability that he expects a quiet trade deadline.

Here's Aldridge's full statements.

"I feel like they're not trying to make any quick fixes," he said. "I think they want to take this year to get the young guys better. Get guys experience. I don't think they'll make a move, I think they'll ride it out with our guys. ... I think they have a plan that they're trying to follow."

Aldridge explained his thought process, noting that it was not the result of recent conversations with management.

"I don't think they will," he told Blazersedge. "I haven't talked to them. I'm just guessing. I really don't know if they will make a move. I feel like we came into this season with these young guys, that was their goal, we've over-achieved. I don't see them making any moves... I think they are going to focus on really doing something this summer. Bringing in some more big [important] guys. I don't have a clue [who]. I'm waiting to find out myself. "

As the season plays out, Aldridge expects the team's younger players to get more run.

"I see the young guys playing more and trying to learn more," he said.

Big thanks to Timmay! for getting an abbreviated version of this post up earlier this afternoon.
