Casey Holdahl of Blazers.com reports that The Portland Trail Blazers will release a new version of their popular collectible drinking glasses from the early 1990s. The glasses were originally sponsored by Dairy Queen and featured caricatures of Clyde Drexler, Terry Porter, Jerome Kersey, Kevin Duckworth, Buck Williams and Cliff Robinson.
After a 20-year hiatus, the Trail Blazers are bringing back the caricature-adorned drinking glasses this season. The team will distribute the glasses, which feature artistic renditions of LaMarcus Aldridge, Damian Lillard, Wesley Matthews, Nicolas Batum and Robin Lopez, on five different game nights at the Moda Center. The team will also wear their popular "Rip City" jerseys on those nights.
As of right now I don't know what all the dates will be, but I know the LaMarcus Aldridge glass will be the first handed out at the game against the Spurs on Feb. 19. Everyone who attends those games will get a glass.
Update: Here's the schedule...
- LaMarcus Aldridge: 2/19 vs. San Antonio
- Robin Lopez: 2/26 vs. Brooklyn
- Damian Lillard: 3/5 vs. Atlanta
- Wesley Matthews: 3/30 vs. Memphis
- Nicolas Batum: 4/13 vs. Golden State
Here we have a promotion that is sure to be received with a 100 percent approval rating.
Robin Lopez was born for this moment.

The Blazers are also investigating the possibility of new jersey designs and the possibility of a new court design.
