Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com reports on Twitter that Portland Trail Blazers guard Wesley Matthews did not travel with his team to California for Thursday's preseason finale against the Golden State Warriors.

Erik Gundersen of The Columbian reports that Matthews left practice early on Wednesday.

The other thing that ended earlier than expected was Wesley Matthews' participation in practice as Terry Stotts said that he left halfway through practice because he wasn't feeling well. Stotts said that Matthews went to go see the doctor and he was unsure whether Matthews would make the trip with the team to the Bay Area.

In five preseason games, Matthews averaged 6.8 points and 3.8 rebounds and shot 26.5 percent from the field.

Blazers guard Will Barton started in place of Matthews during a 94-84 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers last Friday.

Blazers rookie guard Allen Crabbe just returned to the team this week after missing time due to an illness.

Blazers All-Star forward LaMarcus Aldridge will play on Thursday after missing time with a sore knee.

The Blazers open their regular season schedule against the Phoenix Suns on Oct. 30.
