Blazers C Meyers Leonard (Ankle) To Miss "Weeks" More

Portland Trail Blazers center Meyers Leonard says he will be sidelined "weeks" more with his sprained right ankle.

Portland Trail Blazers center Meyers Leonard told reporters at shootaround on Monday that he expects to miss "weeks" more with his sprained right ankle, suffered during a Dec. 29 win over the Philadelphia 76ers. Leonard did not travel on Portland's recent four-game road trip.

Meyers Leonard says his ankle is improving but he could be out for a couple more weeks. No official timetable for his return.

Leonard said he was on crutches for 2 days, in a boot for 5. He doesn't have timetable for return. Definitely won't play tonight.

Meyers Leonard says his ankle has gotten much better. Says he's never experienced any pain like that before.

Leonard, 20, is averaging 4.7 points and 3.5 rebounds per game this season.
