The Portland Trail Blazers announced on Sunday that rookie guard Will Barton and third-year guard Nolan Smith have been assigned to the Idaho Stampede for the upcoming D-League Showcase in Reno, NV.
The Idaho Stampede have been assigned Will Barton and Nolan Smith from their hybrid single-affiliate team, Trail Blazers General Manager Neil Olshey announced today.
Barton and Smith are expected to play this weekend against the Texas Legends and Canton Charge in the team's games at the NBA D-League Showcase in Reno, Nev.
Smith recently fired his agent and had his name appear in early trade rumblings.
The D-League showcase runs from Monday to Thursday. Full schedule is here. The Stampede are scheduled for just the two games mentioned above. Video of the games can be streamed live on the D-League's YouTube channel here.

Smith, 24, is averaging 2.5 points and 1.2 assists in 8.2 minutes per game in 18 appearances for the Blazers this season.
Barton, 22, is averaging 2.9 points and 1.4 rebounds in 10.1 minutes per game in 28 appearances for the Blazers this season. Barton was sent down to the Stampede earlier this season.
