Spears: Pacers Meet Hornets UFA C Chris Kaman, But No Offer

Sports reports on Twitter that the Indiana Pacers met with New Orleans Hornets unrestricted free agent center Chris Kaman on Monday but did not offer him a contract. ------------------------------- Hornets free agent C Chris Kaman had positive meeting with the Pacers' brass over dinner tonight in Indy, but no offer made, source tells Y! ------------------------------- Marc Stein of reports on Twitter... ------------------------------- He will be meeting with more teams, but I'm told Chris Kaman and size-seeking Pacers hit it off during an all-day meeting Monday in Indy Pacers known to be seeking C to replace Roy Hibbert if they elect not to match Blazer offer sheet. Indy tried to get Kaman at the deadline last season. ------------------------------- It was reported earlier this weekend that the Pacers would begin to investigate other potential options at center after the Portland Trail Blazers reportedly agreed to extend a 4-year, $58 million offer sheet to Pacers restricted free agent center Roy Hibbert. While Pacers coach Frank Vogel said before free agency opened that Hibbert "wasn't going anywhere" there are some who don't view the Pacers matching as a slam dunk. Kaman, 30, averaged 13.1 points and 7.7 rebounds for the Hornets in 2011-12 after being traded to New Orleans by the Los Angeles Clippers.
