Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports that the five teams linked to former Portland Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy in rumors over the past few weeks will get meetings once the NBA's July free agency period opens on Sunday. ------------------------------------- Former Portland Trail Blazers star Brandon Roy has narrowed his free-agent finalists to the Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors, league sources said. He expects to hold meetings with those teams over the next several days. ... After team doctors pushed Roy to stop playing last year, the Blazers used the league’s new amnesty provision to pay him the remaining $63 million on his contract and make him a free agent. He’s been working out for several months and planning a comeback. ------------------------------------- The Warriors (here) and Timberwolves (here) have publicly confirmed interest in Roy. The Blazers released Roy using the Amnesty Clause back in December 2011. Roy cannot re-join the Blazers until July 2015. ed: text edited, bumped to front page
