Wojnarowski: Blazers Still Waiting If Thunder Don't Re-Sign Brooks

A few weeks back, a report noted that the Oklahoma City Thunder and coach Scott Brooks were still apart on a contract extension and that the Portland Trail Blazers could be used as leverage to consummate the deal. On Thursday, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Thunder and Brooks are getting closer and that the Blazers are still waiting in the wings if no deal is reached. ------------------------------- The Oklahoma City Thunder have added a fourth year to a contract extension offer to coach Scott Brooks, but the two sides still have significant differences on salary, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. Brooks’ contract expires on Saturday, and he could immediately become a candidate for the Portland Trail Blazers, sources said. ------------------------------- The Blazers have been without a full-time head coach since former coach Nate McMillan was fired back in March. Assistant coach Kaleb Canales was promoted to interim coach. Blazers GM Neil Olshey has said the team will address its coaching search once the 2012 NBA Draft is complete. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
