The Portland Trail Blazers and president Chris McGowan announced Friday the hiring of a new vice president one day after laying off three vice presidents.

Anthony Jones-DeBerry, an executive with more than 16 years of sales experience emphasizing premium seating and suites, is joining the Portland Trail Blazers as Vice President of Premium Seating. The hiring of Jones-DeBerry was announced today by Trail Blazers President and CEO Chris McGowan. Jones-DeBerry will join the Trail Blazers sales team on Monday, Dec. 10.

"We're excited that Anthony is joining the organization," said McGowan. "Anthony brings a wealth of premium seating experience to the team and I am thrilled to have him as member of our executive team."

Jones-DeBerry was most recently Executive Vice President of Sales for Los Angeles-based Owners Pass, a national specialty sales consultant for Fortune 1000 companies in the creation of customized corporate packages. Divisions under his management focused on premium seats and experience offerings for such events as the Super Bowl, BCS National Championship Game and the NCAA Basketball Final Four.

Prior to his time at Owners Pass, Jones-DeBerry was Vice President of Premium Seating Sales at STAPLES Center. His career also includes senior sales executive roles for other Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) owned venues, The Home Depot Center (Carson, CA), Sprint Center (Kansas City) and O2 Arena (London).

A football letterman as a linebacker at the University of Notre Dame and later UCLA, Jones-DeBerry holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from UCLA.

This brings the Blazers back up to 12 vice presidents.
