Joe Freeman of The Oregonian reports on Twitter that Portland Trail Blazers guard Wesley Matthews practiced Monday and plans to play against the New York Knicks on Tuesday after missing some time with a strained left hip flexor.
Matthews, who first injured his hip on Dec. 9 against the Sacramento Kings, sat out two games before attempting to return to action against the New Orleans Hornets. After playing partial minutes against the Hornets and getting in a full night against the Denver Nuggets, Matthews re-aggravated the injury against the Phoenix Suns and sat for Portland's last four games.
Blazers coach Terry Stotts started Victor Claver the last four games.
