Kevin Pelton of Basketball Prospectus and I got together on Wednesday for the first edition of The Dontonio Wingcast, our long lost basketball podcast, of the 2012-13 regular season.
Pelton spent the week looking at overachievers and underachievers around the NBA so we broke down how the key members of the Blazers are faring compared to expectations, both our own and preseason statistical projections. Pelton helps assuage some of my concerns with Damian Lillard, we take up the "Trade LaMarcus Aldridge" talk, and we discuss how Nicolas Batum, Will Barton and Joel Freeland look so far.
This is a fairly optimistic podcast overall so perhaps it will be soothing in the midst of a rough road trip.
Also, we are giving away an autographed copy of the 2012-13 Pro Basketball Prospectus. The first person to email me at the address below with the answer to the following question will win the book.
The question: Which member of the Blazers had the fourth highest projected WARP entering the 2012-13 season?
Update: Congrats to Michael E., who correctly guess Joel Freeland.
Mandatory plug: the book is essential reading as always this year. Former Blazers GM Kevin Pritchard wrote the foreword too. You can buy it on Amazon.com here. Great present for the holiday season obviously.
