Blazers G Damian Lillard Names His Three Favorite NBA Point Guards

Portland Trail Blazers rookie point guard Damian Lillard lists his three favorite NBA point guards.

Steve Dykes-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Over the next few days, I'll be rolling out some quicker-hitting pieces and round-ups of leftover quotes from Media Day and the first week of 2012-13 Portland Trail Blazers training camp.

First up, here's Blazers guard Damian Lillard telling Blazersedge who his three favorite point guards are and why.

I really respect Chris Paul, just because of what he brings to the table for his team every game. I feel like he puts guys in position to do what they do best all the time. When it's time to win the game, he goes and wins games for his team. If that's scoring, or passing the ball, or defending. I think Chris Paul is probably the best point guard in the league.

Then I like Russell Westbrook just because of how competitive he is and how he's turned out to be something people didn't expect him to be.

And then after him, I'd say Derrick Rose. He's not a worse point guard than Russell Westbrook, based off of me, I just like his demeanor. He already has the MVP and I feel like what he brings to the table is similar to what I do. I'm a scoring point guard, I think he makes a lot of players for other people.

Blazers assistant coach David Vanterpool was around Westbrook as a scout with the Oklahoma City Thunder in recent seasons. He compares Westbrook and Lillard in this interview.
