Gameday Open Thread: Blazers vs. Hawks

New, comments

NOTE: I'd like to interrupt this gameday thread to for a rare political statement. Congress is rushing to pass bills known as "SOPA" and "PIPA". The intent is to "Stop Online Piracy". It could actually have the side-effect of reducing your ability to freely converse online. You know, like commenting in this gameday thread, or writing fanposts! All day Wednesday, the tech industry is declaring "Anti-SOPA Day", featuring a Wikipedia blackout.

So what can you do? Go to Google's information page, where you can learn more and add your name to the congressional petition. Then talk about it online, to anyone who doesn't know. BE's parent, SB Nation, is also opposed to this bill, but they did not request this post. Instead, Dave was nice enough to give me the "ok" to post about it here. (Thanks Dave!)

Now on to basketball... welcome in from the snow and rain! Early this evening, the Portland Trail Blazers visit Atlanta to play the Hawks (5:10 tip-off!). The Hawks are a bit vulnerable right now but, as many have noted, they seem to rise to the occasion against Portland. Can the Blazers steal a win?

Injury report: Marcus Camby participated in morning shootaround, but is still "doubtful" for tonight's game. Joe Freeman of The Oregonian reported shortly before game time that Camby will "be in uniform and available in an emergency."

The usual rules apply:

1. No swearing | 2. No pictures | 3. Be Nice!
4. Don't discuss unofficial game streaming

And, of course, have fun. Go Blazers! -- Tim
