Discussion for the day:
This year was LaMarcus Aldridge's breakout season. He stepped up and became the primary offensive option for the team, its soul on the floor. When Aldridge prospered the team soared. When he struggled his teammates looked like they were climbing uphill on roller skates.
How comfortable are you with Aldridge's prospects of remaining the first option on this team and how much success do you forecast the team having if he does. In other words, say there's no fully-healthy Brandon Roy coming back and Greg Oden doesn't make an appreciable difference. Also assume the franchise won't make a trade for another #1 guy. For the next 6-7 years the team will be publicized as "LaMarcus Aldridge and the Portland Trail Blazers".
1. Are you cool with that?
2. How far can they go?
3. What do the Blazers need to do in order to build around him for maximum success?
Have at it below.
