Portland staged a late comeback to make it close, but too many mistakes, and too much hot shooting from Dallas, and the Blazers head home for the Summer to wonder what might have been. Again.
An injured Gerald Wallace did everything he could, contributing 32 points and 12 rebounds despite missing part of the game. LaMarcus Aldridge ended with 24 points and 10 rebounds, but missed 2 critical FT's late that would have cut the lead to two points. Wesley Matthews was the only other player in double figures, adding 14 points, but on 1-6 three-point shooting.
I'll leave it to Dave and Ben to go into detail from here. But honestly, Dallas was the better team, they showed it, and they won. A tip of the hat to the Mavericks, good luck against Los Angeles.
And thank you to the GDT regulars, you guys have been a great crew all season. See you in the fall, if we have any basketball. Feel free to discuss the future of the Blazers here.
The box score is here. Take it easy everyone. -- Tim
