NBA: Timberwolves PF Kevin Love Replaces Rockets C Yao Ming On Western Conference All-Star Team

118

On Friday night, the NBA announced that Minnesota Timberwolves power forward Kevin Love will replace Houston Rockets center Yao Ming on the 2011 NBA Western Conference All-Star team. Yao was voted to the starting lineup by the fans but will miss the game due to injury. Portland Trail Blazers power forward LaMarcus Aldridge had also been a hopeful for the spot. As I wrote at length earlier this week, the Timberwolves and Blazers campaigned for Love and Aldridge. The NBA's commissioner, David Stern, makes the injury replacement call for All-Star games. Love attended Lake Oswego High School. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
