Tom Ziller, as he often does, did some crusading work recently on the subject of "Black Hole" players: NBA guards that use a lot of possessions without registering many assists. Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant came out as his biggest "Black Hole" player. Neil Paine of Basketball-Reference recently posted some additional research that lists guards who play 30+ minutes and pass the least per touch. By this measure, two Portland Trail Blazers guards - Wesley Mathews and Brandon Roy - are among the top 10 "Black Holes" guards in the NBA and both are bigger "Black Holes" than Bryant. Matthews ranks No. 6 and Roy ranks No. 9; Roy is sandwiched in between Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade and Bryant, who ranks No. 10. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
