Quick: Blazers President Larry Miller Says No Amnesty For Brandon Roy

69
Below, I quoted Portland Trail Blazers acting GM Chad Buchanan saying that it would take a "drastic change" for the Blazers to use the Amnesty Clause on Brandon Roy before the 2011-2012 season. Jason Quick of The Oregonian reports that Blazers president Larry Miller has eliminated the equivocation in that sentiment and said that Blazers owner Paul Allen agrees with the decision to keep Roy unless he suffers an injury prior to the amnesty deadline, which is still unknown. -------------------------- Blazers president Larry Miller says Blazers will not use Amnesty Clause on Brandon Roy, baring injury in preseason "Our plan right now is not to use the Amnesty. We expect Brandon to be a part of this team when the season starts... He has been there for us, and we want him to know we are supporting him. Paul is on board with this and feels the same way.’’ -------------------------- Miller, Buchanan and Blazers coach Nate McMillan all discussed how the team planned to use Roy, potentially as a member of the starting lineup, during a Monday press conference. However, during the press conference, Miller and Buchanan stopped short of saying Roy would be on the team for sure. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
