Eggers: Marcus Camby Is Giving Back In Spain

Kerry Eggers of the Portland Tribune writes that Portland Trail Blazers center Marcus Camby is doing humanitarian work in Spain as part of the NBA's Basketball Without Borders program. Rudy Fernandez is also part of the program but Eggers reports that Camby and Fernandez haven't yet crossed paths. --------------------------- Among the NBA assemblage in Barcelona are players Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka, Vladimir Radmanovic and Jason Terry and coaches Ron Adams and Dick Harter. On Thursday, they started a four-day camp at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper with 50 of the top European players aged 19 and under. "Those 50 kids are from 28 continents, brought together for our tutelage," Camby said. "There’s a lot of talent, a lot of potential. With a little polishing, a lot of those guys have a future in professional basketball." --------------------------- 28 continents! That's more amazing than Baxter and the wheel of cheese. Really, it's kind of alarming now that I think twice about it. Also alarming is that Google Chrome warned me "appears to host malware". You've been warned.
