Rich Cho On Assistant GM Hiring Process

It's been a quiet week for Portland Trail Blazers General Manager Rich Cho up to this point and it's sounding tonight like we won't have any official announcements until after the weekend. Cho said this evening that he has "zeroed in on two assistant GM candidates" but needs to "finalize the details before we announce the hirings."  He remains hopeful that an announcement will come "early next week."

League sources tell Blazersedge that those two candidates are Oklahoma City's Director of Pro Personnel Bill Branch and the Atlanta Hawks' Director of Pro Personnel Steve Rosenberry. Rosenberry was first linked to the search by Michael Cunningham of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Cho worked with Branch in both Oklahoma City and Seattle; He worked with Rosenberry in Seattle.

Cho told Blazersedge on July 19th that a top priority for his assistant would be "experience". Both Branch and Rosenberry have worked in the NBA for 20 years or more. The hirings would give Portland a boardroom with four major voices with scouting backgrounds.

The wait continues.
