Quick: Blazers Brass Refuses To Talk About Kevin Pritchard

165
Jason Quick tweets that Blazers management has nothing to say for itself after today's Yahoo! report regarding Kevin Pritchard... ----------------------- Paul Allen declines comment on Kevin Pritchard. Spokesman says Allen "won’t talk about personnel until decisions are made.’’ Larry Miller remains silent on Pritchard as well. ----------------------- That fits with a pretty clearly defined track record, doesn't it? Quick also tweets that Pritchard says he is planning to stay the course.. If you don't feel for KP at this point I don't know what to tell you. Shameless behavior. Absolutely shameless. Update (1:04AM): The latest from Quick: Jerry West's name has popped up as a possible Pritchard replacement. West, aka The Logo, the Hall of Fame guard and former Lakers and Grizzlies executive, would certainly be a Pete Carroll-esque splash hire for Allen. His credentials are impeccable and would be attractive to any owner, as he was the architect behind multiple title-winning teams in LA. Vulcan CEO and Seattle Seahawks CEO Tod Leiweke is credited with landing Carroll and has ties in Southern California thanks to his brother Tim, who is a key player behind the LA Live development and a high-ranking executive with sports and entertainment conglomerate AEG. But, as Howard Beck of the New York Times wrote about West two days ago, "He retired in 2007, presumably for good, although his name surfaces regularly whenever a job opens." As a footnote: The Blazers' Former Vice President of Basketball Operations Tom Penn worked for West in Memphis. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
