The Dontonio Wingcast Episode 025

Basketball Prospectus's Kevin Pelton and I are back with a live-from-prison season review and playoff preview edition of The Dontonio Wingcast. In this 55 minute episode taped this morning...

  • We try to decide whether my birthday prank of Kevin was the best idea of all time or the worst idea of all time and whether it might help take our careers in new and exciting directions.  We look back at the terrible officiating during the Mavericks game last Friday and the insane fallout from the prank.
  • We come to grips with Brandon Roy's meniscus tear.  What did we make of the play, how did Roy handle himself on Monday night and what are the longterm implications?
  • We break down the win over the Thunder on Monday and what it means for the playoffs.  We also briefly review the crazy circumstances surrounding Don Nelson and his empty bench last night.
  • We analyze the upcoming playoff series from all angles and make our predictions. We compare the team's benches, styles of play and try to determine the formula of events that would need to occur for a Blazers upset. I describe the scene in the Blazers locker room last night and how it differed from last season.
