Last night, Portland Trail Blazers General Manager Rich Cho invited a group of more than 50 Blazers fans to tour the team's Practice Facility in Tualatin. The tour continued a tradition started by former GM Kevin Pritchard two years ago and dreamed up by Blazers fan Tim P. over at the SportsTwo Blazers forum. Last year's tour, you might remember, revealed that Blazers guard Brandon Roy had trimmed down.
This year's iteration bordered on mind-blowing. The tour started at 6 p.m. and continued well past 8 p.m. and included: workouts on the team's practice court with strength coach Bobby Medina; a chat with assistant coach Kaleb Canales; a guided tour of the facility's workout room, game room, pool room, and locker room; a pizza dinner in the team's draft war room; a speech, question-and-answer session and slideshow presentation by Cho; a viewing of the team's season-opening motivational video; a raffle giveaway of autographed memorabilia; and, finally, a tour of Cho's office.
The entire night was organized with near military efficiency and the group mood afterwards resembled Christmas morning.
I took a boatload of pictures throughout the night and spent a few hours going through this morning to provide captions so you can re-live the tour in all its glory.
Here's a link to the full-size Flickr Slideshow. Click "Show Info" in the upper right hand corner to turn on the captions if they don't display automatically.
You can view the smaller-size (no captions) slideshow below. But don't do that. Go look at the full-size slideshow.
Update: broyposse was one of the tour attendees. Here's some more photos that he took.
