Just an update. Lisa Swan contacted me today and told me that we are officially sold out for Blazersedge Night tickets. Besides the regular tickets people bought to attend themselves we sold 91 tickets to give to kids who wouldn't otherwise be able to go. That's right...91 kids are going because of you guys. I can't think of a better way to express what this community, and Portland fandom, is about. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Some of you have asked what the next step is for the tickets. I have a contact in Portland who works with disadvantaged kids and has connections all over. Last year he hooked us up with some public schools, some social agencies, some church ministries that work with at-risk youth...a variety of outlets. We're doing the same this year so the love gets spread around. Essentially we give blocks of tickets to the directors/principals of those organizations and let them decide which kids would benefit the most. Although my guy was expecting 40-50 tickets and now he's got 90+. A pleasant problem to have, I'm sure.
Thanks again to everybody here and across the blogosphere who helped make this happen. I can't wait for the 27th!
P.S. Reminder to other blogs who purchased 3 tickets or more. Make sure you e-mail me and let me know. We want to put your stuff out there!
