You can all breathe easier today. The Blazers have named their new Assistant General Manager (news via Casey at O-Live). It's former Memphis Assistant GM Tom Penn.
Word was they wanted his older cousin Sean Penn because of the name value and added leverage in forcing trades but he reportedly had issues with the media early in his career and they didn't want to risk starting that again...
