Rambis has given [Martell] the freedom to make mistakes and play through them. He said he felt if he made mistakes with the Blazers, "I was going to get barked at and told not to do it again and get the ball to the point guard, yadda, yadda, yadda, etcetera, etcetera. Here, the coach emphasizes you play through it, you don't hang your head. You do it, you get back on defense and you forget about it."

Sorry if this was already linked, but i just saw it today. Thought the breakdown was cool and it makes me appreciate our wings more than I already do.

Quick: Trail Blazers forward Martell Webster stays positive in preparing for his next chance

Since this hasn't been posted yet ... The title should read: "Martell Webster doesn't complain, even though he is getting jobbed". Don't get me wrong, I think Nic Batum belongs in the starting lineup. But I don't think Nic starting should equal Webster playing 5 minutes in a ballgame, even if his shot is off. He's also evolved into quite the defensive stopper, even if he couldn't shackle LeBron James on Sunday night. " Also, Roy on the MVP list, no surprise there.

Roy on Webster's Defense

Quoth Brandon, "… And I watched some film on him in my second year — I was like, dang, Martell took a lot of pressure off me. …I think he’s a player that we missed last year… There was games where, like, me and Travis had to guard LeBron and Kobe, where (two seasons ago), Martell did that. And Nicolas can do that. So it takes a lot of pressure off me, so I’m excited that he’ll be back."

Who is our Starting Small Forward?

A terrific discussion on the merits of our three headed sf monster.

Kevin Pritchard on Wheels at Work

KP spent about 15 minutes with Brian Wheeler and the gang on 95.5 the Game about noon today. Here is an enhanced podcast of the segment for iTunes or your iPod. He touches on Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge, Andre Miller, Martell Webster, Greg Oden, and life as a GM. File is 7.5MB and about 15 minutes long...

Check the action, KP. The cards will come.

To make a poker comparison, I think that with our recent attempt and failure to reel in Turkoglu, what we have essentially done is make a big pre-flop bet on a high suited connector, and been...
