Short Links

In case you haven't noticed, Ben's been really busy writing stuff this week.  To give him a hand I'm going to step in with a couple short, standard links.  He's the impresario of unusual stuff so you'll have to wait if you want to get fancy.  But here's your basic KFC-type review of what's going on.

Kerry Eggers discusses Channing Frye, The Foul, and for whom our Blazers are voting this fall.  This is a switch.  Not too long ago your expected responses to a voting question would have been:

A.  You mean on American Idol, right?

or...

B. Sorry, I'm too young to vote.

Dwight Jaynes tells us Blazers-L*kers will get better with time.

In addition to Ben's coverage below, Casey "I drop multimedia coverage on y'all like it was greased ball bearings" Holdahl also has coverage of the Nike Hoops Summit as does Sean Meagher at Oregonlive.

I betcha Mike Barrett posts something or other today.  If he doesn't, I'll cut my hair in a Fauxhawk.

2008 "The Year of the Fauxhawk"
Can we expect this conversation to linger over the next 15 years? Rice is going to have to keep ratcheting it up every year. Maybe Greg shows up to training camp with a "Mr. T," hopefully we'll get to see Rice rock that when we win the championship.

I wrote an email to MB
MB and Rice have been dying to  put a fauxhawk on someone that simply shouldnt have one.  Looks like Dave could be the victim...

Dont worry Dave....
People with fauxhawks fit right into the Portland scene.  Now, if you lived somewhere like Montana or Idaho, you might have a problem blending in unnoticed... :)

Wow
If Dave hadn't followed my warning on the open thread and changed the original wording of that link, he'd probably be able to claim a get out clause on this....

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
