Funny Thing
I was playing ESPN's lottery machine just to see how far some of the point guards could fall, and I got the Blazers the top pick twice in 8 tries.  But, be warned, I couldn't for the life of me get the Blazers the top pick last year, even though I tried very hard.  So, take it for what it is worth, nothing.

Whoa. That IS news.
It says Darius "has been relieved of all team responsibilities, including his rehab program with his own personal trainer."

That's not something I'd heard before. I mean, discontinuing his REHAB PROGRAM?!?
That's pretty conclusive, considering his situation and condition.
That piece of info is at least diary-worthy, I think.

Not sure where, but I'm pretty sure we've read that bit of news before.  Could even be a Quick article, or possibly one of his Quick Chats.  BUT, I do know I read/heard that Miles has stopped his rehab while the impartial doc is looking him over to see if it truly is a medical retirement.

Remember last year?
Last season, the Bobcats game at home was the one where we blew them out big time and LMA scored like 30 points.  I even think he scored 30 by the end of the 3rd quarter, and we ended up sitting him most of the rest of the way because we were up by so much.

We were oopin', shootin', takin' care of biznass.  I wanna see another game like THAT one here!

Yeah
He's really good.  I think after the tournament is over, he will be the guy who moves up the most in the draft.  Stephen Curry is good too but I doubt he was on many draft boards before the tournament.

This is typical of young teams
1st quarter full of energy.  2nd quarter the opponent wakes up and comes back.  3rd quarter the opponent salts the game away.  4th quarter it gets free and easy and the young team looks better.

That said, the Bobcats shouldn't be a team that's capable of doing that to us.

gotta put this one partly on Aldridge also
he needed to take over late and impose his will on the game, but he just didn't do anything.

Give Charlotte credit though.  Felton stepped up and dominated down the stretch.  Burned yet again by a PG we could have had instead of Martell/Jack.  Every  time I think about that draft I just get very very angry.

Our point guard play needs a huge upgrade
Blake and Jack can't guard a goal post.  It seems like every game, the other team's point guard has an advantage at that position.

I agree, I had been posting about...
points in the paint and all we got was more lame outside shooting or turnovers.

Now I am starting to get mad again.

They are both pretty bad
In fact, I did a quick glance of the Western Conference teams to see how many point guards I would choose to rank behind these two.  Suffice to say, it was a very low number.

I just listened to the whole interview
and, while Nate did mention the same things you did, he raked the kids over the coals and left them with 2nd and 3rd degree burns. Like jksnake99(thanks for the link btw) I think he was pretty harsh, basically accusing them of throwing in the towel.

Not discouraging to be a fan
this year when the goal was to build on last year and prepare for the Oden Era. Without both Roy and Aldrich we don't have any chance at all. With either one missing we are relying on role players to be the scorers and that only works occasionally.

The real problem as I see it is the difficulty in evaluating players when they are not in their roles.

Looking at the standings
we seem to be locked into the 13th pick unless we win the ping pong balls again. Nobody can go past us up and no way we can go down below. We still will get a shot at a player and KP will move us into a better pick if there is a player he really wants. With two high 2nd round picks as well we can stash some guys overseas again and maybe even get an assassin to shoot threes.

Lizzy mentioned we were outscored 14-2 . . .
 . . . to end the game.

Specifically, that was the last 4:28 of the game.
So, what's worse: Allowing 14 points in four and a half minutes, or scoring two in that time?

Hint: Both stats are awful. That points at turnovers in particular, more than missed shots or blown assignments.
Turnover = blown possession AND a chance at a quick basket the other way.
And of you do the math, 14 in 4:28 means a 2-point field goal every [does the math] 38 seconds.
If you commit a 24-second violation on every possession and allow them to make a two-pointer
EVERY STINKING PLAY with their shot clock at 9 seconds, you only give up 12 points in 4:28.

That's right.
We did worse than running out the shot clock every possession, then on defense the other way,
holding them for at least 14 seconds before they score EVERY BLEEPING TIME.

That's bad.
That's turnovers, and not just bad shots, but bad shots taken VERY quickly.
That's what you lose with Roy; he doesn't allow us to take a quick shot unless its a GOOD ONE, dang it.

And that sort of possession control is not a box score stat--"Early-in-the-shot-clock bad shots allowed by teammates".

Plus--for the record . . .
 . . . that's two rough losses since the lizards returned just before the Pyrite State game,
for the sole reason that there was some superstitious implication that those reptiles were good luck.

I think he's a bit too harsh.  I thought the effort was there today, we just couldn't get anything to fall.  I can understand being upset about not valuing the ball, but I didn't get the sense the guys wanted the season to be over.

Future P.G.
I think the Blazers should explore trading Jack and Frye and maybe two secound round draft picks for a vet. P.G. Like R.Felton or A.Miller just see if they can get somebody to bite.If they could do something to get a Vet P.G. the team could go somewhere next year if not we will have the same things happen thats happing this year.  IMO They can put everyone on the block but BRoy,G.Oden,L.Aldridge,J.Przybilla,T.Outlaw,  M.Webster and I think Blake would be a good back up P.G. Oh we need Sergio to get Rudy over here and help with his transtion.So with Francis and Miles on the books that leaves five or six tradeable bodys they can package with some secound round picks and I,m not convincedwe should trde Mc Roberts just yet he might be a good asset.But with all those options K.P. should get some good Vets.And we also don't know whats going to happen with Miles yet thier could be more cap room to work with also if the doc. saya he's done.
