Roy Out

Jason Quick has confirmed that Brandon Roy has confirmed that he will miss both games in L.A. this week.  Takes a little bit of the bloom off of the first meeting with the L*kers, eh?

The story is here.

Ok, another blessing in disguise post...
I wonder if the team is becoming so passive partly in response to the Roy 4th quater magic that he frequently brought. It seems they are increasingly dependent on him as their own productivity falls. Vicious cycle. And I wonder if he isn't starting to lose a little confidence in them as they consistently fall to match his intensity level and growth curve.

I think a time out might be a good thing, not in terms of winning and losing right now, but in terms of long term growth of the players.

Heck, he should take two weeks and get completely healthy, let sergio get some more time and try Martell at the two for a while.

Von Wafer?
With BRoy out for a few games might we see the greatest NBA talent no one has ever heard of a.k.a. Mr. Von Wafer? I have to admit I've never seen him play but people who have describe him as an athletic SG who can shoot from outside.

Roy-Bot is programmed for SELFISHNESS
How many times have I mentioned on BlazersEdge that I was going to the Lakers game tomorrow night down here in LA?  Two, three times?  More?  Roy HAD to have seen me mention it at least once, yet STILL HE IS SITTING THE GAME OUT.

Not only does he know I'm going to the game, he KNOWS I have never seen him and LMA and Friends live and in person ever in the entire history of the damn world.

I used to think me and Brandon Roy had a future together, but now I'm not so sure.  I like to think I'm wrong, because there's a first time for everything, but my heart is broken and this shall never be rectumified.  I don't know what to say.  Getting healthy for the rest of the season and the rest of his career is ONE thing, me getting to see him in person is another, when unless I die (which I might) I'll have plenty of other times in my lifetime to see him play.  I think we know which is more important.  Thank you.

Thanks a lot, Roy-SNOT.  I hope I die and Canzano writes a story about a poor Boy who lived in LA and saved all his pennies to see Roy play the Lakers but Roy was injured and didn't play and then the Boy died and then Roy understands what he did was wrong but it was too late.  And guess what: THAT BOY IS ME.

Please get better Roy.  Forget about me.  Remember me always.  I'm not important.  Don't forget my support MADE you.

Awwww... get better and no more Fresh/Soph games, okay silly?

I can't stay mad at you any longer.

Love,
Mortimer

I think he said he hoped to go on the trip
So you'll probably SEE him live.  Oh, wait, you wanted to see him PLAY live? Darn.

But, maybe
you'll be the first BE-er to see the amazing Von Wafer play live.
Lucky!

You have to break
this Brandon Roy depedency. Morty, I know he has been ignoring you lately, but it is not because he doesn´t care of you, does he?.

Like the new lineup
Joel, LMA, Webster, Outlaw and Blake.  Blend of athletes and heady veterans.  While we will miss Roy, I am curious on how this group will play together.  I like it.  Forces Webster to handle the ball more and Outlaw to become a bit more of a distributor.  Sure we could lay an egg, but I think I am going to like this.

We will be "The Mafia".
Sicily and Palermo became the cradle of the Mafia... Rather than run drugs or guns, they borrowed other people's cattle and stood guard over property... The point of it all was "to help the weak persevere over the strong", ...

Jack not starting?
Hmm, I thought Jack played too much when Roy was healthy, and now we're starting Martell at the 2-guard when Roy is injured?  Puzzling . . .

I hope we get to see some of the deep bench (Wafer, McRoberts, and, dare I say, Miles) while Oden, Jones, and Roy are out.

I still have this queasy feeling that we'll get trounced by the Lakers and Nate will say, "See, I didn't start Jack and we got whupped."

I'm curious to see how Martell does at the 2-guard; especially if he and Blake are pressured.  Plus, I've been curious all year to see a lineup where a center plays the 5; a power forward plays the 4; a SF (Outlaw in particular) plays the 3; Martell plays the 2; and one of our PGs plays PG (bonus points if we see Sergio play some meaningful PG minutes).

May be fun; may not.  Even good teams have off nights so I wouldn't sweat a 30 point loss any more than a 10 point one while we experiment.

WORD
I would really enjoy seeing our entire available roster being used. After all, we will most likely get out collective tails whupped so I think that we should make like the mouse just before the cat eats it - smile real big, and give them the bird!

I understood that
Dave confirmes that Jason Quick has confirmed that Brandon Roy has confirmed... Many Confirmation. Dave, you must put OT if you want to talk about Sacraments.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
