A good trade
Here is a good trade... http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=2754~2768~2009~976~3192&teams=10~10~10 ~22~22&te=&cash=
It is James Jones, Channing Frye, and Jarret Jack. For Houston's Shane Battier, and Aaron Brooks. It works out in the trade machine. Maybe we shouldn't do this right now as it would leave us a little short handed but this summer might be a good idea.
If Rudy Fernandez is so good then why do we need Jack? And we need to clear some roster spots. Battier is an upgrade from Jones because he is a way better defender and can still knock down the three-...377% which is still pretty good. He is worthy of playing for team USA. We also need someone who can give guys like LeBron, Kobe... and Durant lots of trouble. And finally Oden will be coming next year and we won't need that many centers and would leave the second unit bad at rebounding if we traded Pryzbilla instead of Frye. I also think that Sergio won't get it... ever, so Brooks would fit perfectly, and is already seemingly better than Sergio.

More importantly...
We're winning right now. And I don't think we need another young, undersized pg.

Why are we trading away
As for Jack for Brooks, I love that idea. Can we put Miles in there somehow?

Most importantly
I mean, I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but Frye and Jones do not allow opposing teams to watch their shots go into the hoop after a foul call or stoppage of play of any kind. The ball goes into the air and it will be knocked out of the air even if they have to reach through the hoop to do it.
I have witnessed Frye stop in the middle of an argument with a ref at the foul line to take three quick strides to the hoop and knock the ball out of the air as it travels towards the hoop. It was one of the greatest things I have ever seen. And I was in attendance for the best first quarter of all time against San Antonio in 1992.
Why trade the guys that set the tone for dead ball defense for the Blazers? And I am only partially kidding about this. Watch for it in the next few games.

You are completely right.
I missed the Frye moment though.

It was a thing of beauty
I was in awe.
I must admit that the more I think about it, it was a TV moment for me and not a live one. I would have to guess that it was the Denver game that we won in Denver. But that is purely a guess.
Maybe someday they will keep dead ball blocked shots as a stat.

Inane trade rumors !
We will stand pat with this team because it's
a TEAM and growing up fine with the current roster. This is the kind of action that killed
us under Nash and Patterson. Constant tampering
with the roster, instead of letting players and
coaches grow and mature together. Thank goodness
fans are not making decisions.

unh...
Not sure how that makes us better.
And even Jarrett Jack haters can't be foolish enough to send Jack away for Aaron Brooks. Just how is he an improvement?
