How'd We Miss This?

Brent Hunsberger at the newly-manned Playbooks and Profits Blog over at O-Live posted a piece a couple weeks ago about how the Blazers retained Global Spectrum to run the Rose Garden for one more year.  Did I just miss that story entirely or wasn't it broadcast very widely?  I remember at least a couple articles from columnists this summer urging the Blazers to retain the company because of the sterling service.  Those same articles intimated that the odds were long because the competing company was run by the brother of Big Tod L, one of Paul Allen's right hand men.  I know it's only a one-year deal but I'm surprised we didn't hear more about the team making what many would feel is the "right choice".  Or maybe it was talked about and I just missed it entirely.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
