Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

Watch this

If you're looking for something to do today and your computer can handle video, go here to the Wizards/Raptors highlights and watch the video clip.  Dumbest...play...ever.  If only that had happened to Magic back in 1991.

OUCH!!
I feel really bad for Ruffin...reminds of that football player (can't remember his name) who took his helmet off on the field, to celebrate, after the other team missed a fieldgoal to end the game...only to be hit with a penalty for taking his helmet off during a game...as result of the penalty, the other team gets another shot at the field goal and makes it to win the game.

I think you're thinking of Leon Lett
if not him, he did some other dumb things too, but I think it was him.  Versus, Miami, no?

That happened to the raiders...
Phillip Buchannon took his helmet off and boom, penalty.

No ...
It was Duane Rudd. I know this because I'm a Vikings fan and Rudd used to play for the Vikings. Otherwise I wouldn't have known his name when I saw those highlights. Glad he wasn't playing for the Vikes when that happened though ...

Dwayne Rudd
Wasn't it Dwayne Rudd for Cleveland?

Yes, that was it!!
Good memory.  There may have been others, but that was who I was thinking.  We should start a Pictionary team.

Leon Lett
 his Wikipedia page

His gaffes are right near the top.  Let Don Beebe knock the ball away at the goal line agains Buffalo in SB XXVII.
His other gaffe was toucing the ball after a blocked field goal (against Miami) which allowed Miami to recover and score as time ran out, winning the game.
Both made 2 of the top 3 spots in "Bonehead plays" for both ESPN and voting fans.

What's funnier, is that he was a huge part of the Dallas defense, and many argue for him to be in the hall of fame.
It reminds of another great player blooper play I saw, where Magic Johnson turns and passes to Clyde Drexler, b/c Clyde called for the ball.  There was no one in Clyde's path to the basket.  Magic's reaction was priceless.

Not sure
I saw on "Dazzling Dunks and Basketball Bloopers" (pretty sure I did).  It's a from around '88-'90 I think; It's hosted by Marv Albert and Frank Layden.  It's on dvd now (like $10).

Dude
That's nothing. The best part is the Wizards play-by-play announcers and their reaction.

Escobar own goal in COL/US match '94 World Cup
The Andres Escobar own goal in the USA vs Columbia match at the 1194 World Cup was one of the worst plays ever made, and most tragic.

When Escobar returned home to Columbia, Escobar was murdred by drug lords furious about his mistake.

It would have worked if he had just ...
thrown the ball up and toward his own end of the floor. But instead he threw it straight up when he was standing right on Toronto's 3pt line. Boneheaded execution of a nice thought ...

Aw Dave, now why you gotta go and do that?
Just a week or so ago, they had that Wooten (sp?) guy on Courtside talking about great 7th games (which we lost) and you've got to just pile on the pain.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
