Christmas List

Each year we come up with a list of Christmas gifts/wishes for the Blazers.  Here are mine.  You can add your own in the comment section if you want.

To Brandon Roy:  An All-Star berth this year

To Martell Webster:  7 rebounds a game

To Joel Przybilla:  A box full of passes to his hands instead of his feet

To Lamarcus Aldridge:  A practical gift:  one bankable back-to-the basket move

To Steve Blake:  Fans who see what he does for the team

To Jarrett Jack:  Open lanes and willing whistles

To James Jones:  An entire season like his last three weeks

To Travis Outlaw:   New rules declaring every quarter the fourth quarter

To Sergio Rodriguez:  Boxers with his likeness, sold to Portland fans, from which he gets royalties

To Raef LaFrentz:  12 good minutes a night and the chance to finish his career in the playoffs

To Channing Frye:  82 games per year against the Denver Nuggets

To Taurean Green:  To be put in a good situation where he can make a difference

To Josh McRoberts:  Quick-growing hair followed by a date with a better reality star

To Darius Miles: The chance to dunk one more time

To Greg Oden:  No more injuries, ever

To Nate McMillan:  A stocking overflowing with patience from fans

To Kevin Pritchard:  A little time to enjoy all this before the expectations get even higher

To Mike Barrett:  Meaningful games to call and write about late into spring

To Mike Rice:  Fantastic halftime snacks in every arena

Merry Christmas all!

Solid List
But what about Paul Allen?

Wait, that one is obvious, ain't it?

It's something the fans want, too :)

Sergio and McRob
I dont get either one of those gifts. I imagine a better gift for Sergio would be a coach who will put him on the floor for extended minutes.

McRob must be doing something wicked wrong if he cannot even get off the bench for garbage minutes. In the Denver away win Denver put in backups for the final few minutes, but McRob was no where to be seen. He must be doing nothing right in practice if that is how he is getting treated.

So maybe McRob needs a better work ethic, but then again, dont we all.

Merry Christmas, Dave
I think the holiday spirit has me missing Darius, a little.

I can't wait for him to return.  With all the goodwill we've had, I think PDX fans will be ready to give him a shot.

I had started my own list...
for Brandon Roy on Christmas night his first of many career triple doubles.

for Joel Przybilla a career season high in blocked shots with nary a goal tend call.

for Greg Oden a refillable get out of injury-jail free card.  (the same as yours - only the words are different)

And that's as far as I'd gotten.

EuroChristmas
To Joel Freeland, Petteri Kopponen, and Rudy Fernandez: one-way airfare to PDX.

For Martell
a consistent put the ball on the floor and drive to the basket move.

Maybe coach Bayno can help Martell with learning to protect his dribble and to develop all that natural talent with dunks at the end of drives.

All-Star weekend wishes
To Brandon Roy: A spot in the "big boys" All-Star game.

To LMA: A Rookie/Sophomore game MVP trophy.

To Trout: A dunk contest berth.

To James Jones: A 3-point contest berth.

For Martell...
Like Orygun Rod said, I wish Martell would get better ball handling ability for Christmas.  I think he's a good rebounder already and USUALLY gets good rebound numbers with minutes... but he ain't no dribbler.

And to be a scorer and not just a shooter, he needs to be more of a dribbler.

Luckily, dribbling is an attainable skill that one can get better at much more easily than, say, shooting.

So, Merry Christmas Martell!  Here's a crossover move and reliable bring-the-ball-up-the-court dribbling ability so Roy can play the PG with you at SG!

Go get 'em, Tiger!
