OK, now what EXACTLY did I say before that Jazz game...the one that we won? Oh yeah, I think it was something like this:

Does the team have any chance of winning? How about of staying within 10? Maybe the ~~Jazz~~ Warriors will take us for granted? One can hope.

I think we're going to be seeing that line about post-game beer-crying until we actually lose.

Which we won't. Martell was the man last night. Tonight it will be James Jones and Travis.

And Brandon, of course.

If we get 2 wins out of our next four, this is going to be a great month. I expect tonight to be one of them.

It also means consecutive wins, finally, since 4 in a row doesn't count.

I predict a thrilling one point victory

I suspect that Leerow is correct. High scoring game, it'll come down to the last play. Might be a heartbreaking loss. Might be a very satisfying victory.

We have the horses to win this game. JJ33 and Travis need to step up big time. JJ33 neeeds to keep torching the twine from long range, and Travis needs to drive relentlessly to the rim. We know he can hit those free throws.

Blazers are tough

I predicted a win... they can't let me down!

I liked what I saw against Utah. I loved that the blazers held their composure as the jazz made their run.

Golden state will be tough for us... but this is our house and blazer fans need to go and BE LOUD and support the team.

If the blazers lose, I'm going to blame this on the home crowd. If blazer fans were as loud as jazz fans, opposing teams would be going home deaf.

Everyone needs to go and make some serious noise and make the people they're STANDING next to make some serious noise.

So... come on blazer fans!!!

TONIGHT, could go either way

The Warriors are a very fun team to watch, and like to break all the rules of how you are SUPPOSED to play. Down 2, 1 minute left, jack up a 3! Miss? Get the long rebound and shoot another 3 immediately! No problem!

But, the Warriors are sooooo streaky and tend to live and die by their emotions (and obviously their jumpshot). They are definately a team that can be beat by ANYONE on an offnight-- and also they can beat anyone when they're on. Just like the Suns, if the Warriors are hitting contested jumpers... what the hell can ya do?

You live and die by the 3-ball, so we got a good shot if they are dying tonight.

That said, if Baron desides to not settle for outside shots and realizes he can penetrate at will against our PGs, uh oh. We can only hope S-Jax is off tonight and gets upset, taking himself out of the game.

Our team is impossible to predict, as is theirs. LMA being out really hurts because he can get up and down as well as most guards in the league, but Travis playing big minutes as a PF won't hurt us as much as it would against other teams... the Dubs got no real 4 (that I know of).

I know that you don't want to go small because that plays into the Warriors' hands, but I'm not sure how else we can attack. I hope I am wrong, because we PROBABLY won't win a track meet.

Who the hell knows... only sure thing is that it'll be a fun game.

keeping in joel for prolonged periods of time is gonna kill us. This is a time for travis and frye to shine because they match up with the warriors well

I agree

That's what I was thinking as well, but I knew that's what the Warriors want us to do because they play their game better than we can. BUT, I don't see how else we can attack without going small ourselves.

Outlaw is a good match for Harrington at the 4, and Joel might not be that bad against Beidrins but I also can't see him playing 30+ in what will probably be an up and down game.

I know it's a constant problem, but we need to box out and our guards need to grab the long rebounds that are sure to happen with all the jumpers. This could be a game that goes a long way in redeeming Frye in the eyes of Blazer fans, as he SHOULD be able to move up and down the court effectively...

BUT, he needs to cut out the ticky tacky silly fouls and be sure to box out. I think he can play better than he has, and I feel he hasn't been able to catch a break... but he really hasn't stepped up to the opportunities and good will handed to him at the start of the year. Oden woulda/will make him look better, but I hope Frye finds a way to not make this season a lost year.

The Dubs hound the hell outta whoever is the key scorer for the other team, so Roy is gonna need help from Martell and Travis. They've both been playing well, and I hope they can keep it up. Like I said before, the Warriors have lots of off nights, and we need to take advantage if the game can be taken.

Small ball, tall ball, just put whoever plays the best out there. And then, give the ball to Roy. BAM, there, done with my game plan.

And by fun

I mean "only if we win" type fun. While I can enjoy the Dubs' anarchic style working for them when they are playing, say, the Bobcats (or whatever other team I don't care about), that same unpredictable style getting my team killed isn't my idea of fun dammit.

You know, it's almost a 'win-win' for us, because if we win we weren't supposed to and that's nice and if we LOSE, well we weren't supposed to win and how can ya stop these guys when their shots are hitting? It's kinda a defeatist attitude, but while we're still young and inexperienced I don't think it's too awful to not be upset with our boys if we lose a game we are supposed to lose.

BUT, if we lose in a 78-73 type battle, we are allowed to be disappointed. We should win that sort of game, not because it's our specialty anymore, but because it means we knocked the Warriors off of their game so much and we NEED to take the opportunity to strike victoriously.

No matter what happens, I am happy with how the season has progressed thus far and I hope the improvement continues.

My guess is that Casey is leaving :-(

Perhaps he wants to focus his blogging time completely upon high school cross country meets? I really like the job Casey has done with the Oregonlive Blog, ESPECIALLY his work on the Quick Chats.

So, I hope that's not the sad news, but I'd assume so. Maybe there is some other possibility I am too oblivious to figure out?

If Casey is leaving, I hope it's not to run Ricky Davis' website... unless it's a big pay raise and all that. Follow your dreams, Casey!

We are basically playing the Warrior game...only better than the Warriors are playing it.
On Defense we put the zone on them and they just haven't been hittin from outside...that wont last tho...we need to just continue to be aggressive and not loose our composure like you can sense the Warriors doing...

Timing. Was the defensive player established in the area before the offensive player?
Feet. Were the feet set by the defensive player?
Was the defensive player still moving?
Was the defensive player outside the restricted circle beneath the hoop?

4a. If he wasn't, did the offensive player catch the ball inside the circle?

incredible back to back.

I live in the bay area and caught the Warriors broadcast. They are (for hometown commentators) fairly unbiased (the Mikes are bigger homers probobly).

I got chills watching the guys execute like that. Both teams had the excuse of tired legs. The Warriors looked like it.

We didn't.

Schedule doesn't get any easier but man what a back to back.

We are going to be so sick next year-- I'm not thinking 8th seed, I'm thinking 5th or 6th. I still think we fall short of the playoffs this year but its very exciting to see them play this well.

I will try my best to not overreact next time we go on a losing streak.
