Hmm...
..."bet" the mighty Mavericks? Could that be freudian slip? Could it be that Dave doesn't think we have a chance, and is really going to place a mortgage payment or two down on The Mavericks?

Secret Plan
Sent bad directions to the Maverick team bus.

"I thought we were going to the Rose Garden, this place says 'Expo Center.'"

On the plus side, it looks like the Mavs could get a good deal on an RV

guys...
The Mavs are really good but its not like they are unbeatable.  The Blazers are starting to become a good home team.  I give the Blazers a reasonable chance to win, say 35-40%.

by jksnake99 on Nov 10, 2007 2:30 PM PST reply actions

Hush!!
We're just practicing "nega-think."  If you say the Blazers might win, they get blown out and humiliated.  But if you say they have no chance, they rise up and shock the Mavs.

I would like to know how to get in touch with Shane Stant.  He is the central figure in my 'secret plan' to beat the Mavs tonite.  Dirk, Josh, and Jason know what is coming next...

Big Game tonite!

The PTBs could have 3 in a row! Move to .500 winnin' % for the start o' the season. Be 1.000 % at HOME. Gots the Fans behind 'em. Need to play a better game. This is what we have been building our Team for. I am hopin' it happens

ODEN UNDEFEATED AT HOME
If we are going 41-0 at home this year, then we kind of have to win this game.

In all seriousness, after I saw the Mavs beat Golden State the other night, I knew that we could give this team fits.

They have no one to gaurd Roy just as they have no one to guard Baron Davis.

If Roy can take over this game, and we get some solid shooting from Web, LMA, and Frye, then we're in business.

The Mavs will always give you a chance to upset them.  We just have to seize that chance.

I think our guys will be ready to play tonite.

I'm stoked for tonight's game
I like the momentum the team is building, should be fun to see if they can sustain it against one of the "Big Three" teams in the West!

If we can get somebody to score 30, I say we win.  Otherwise, we post around 87 and lose.

very strange game
From the Dallas perspective, they have to be thinking, "we're playing a mediocre team playing a back to back, they can't hit a FT, we're dominating the boards... If we could hit a shot or two, we'd be in control."

From the Blazer perspective: "Dallas might have just finished the worst 3 qtrs of shooting they'll have all year.  We should be up 25 if we could grab a board or hit a FT."

Should be an interesting 4th.  Its Roy time!

I hate to pop your bubble
but they're going ot tirer out by the end of the year.

They're playing hard and that takes energy.  They're young so they still need to figure out how to play smart.

They're doing well, but let's keep expectations realistic until we're halfway through the season and THEN take a look at thiings.

People are beating up the blazers or proclaiming play-offs and we're only 6 games into the season.

I hate to be responsible for downgrading the level of discussion on this site.

Sometimes I think
an individual's comments can inspire someone to talk about a larger point (or to a larger group) which doesn't necessarily have to do directly with the original commenting person.  I know I do this all the time.  ("What Brogger said made me think this, but this is not directed solely at Brogger.")  I think that's sort of what was going on here.  It's hard, though, when you're the original comment person and it feels like something that is meant for thousands and talking about a broad, overarching point is being directed at you and your point.  That's a lot of weight.  It gets harder when the wording isn't clear and it looks like it is directed right at you.

Best possible solution:  You are indeed brilliant.  RB also has a point about the shortened rotation wearing out quicker and that these three wins are probably not in themselves more indicative than the three losses last week.  Neither one of these necessarily excludes the other.

On the other hand maybe RB really was chewing your behind and has it out for you.  In that case why don't you two go over to Oregonlive and call each other really bad names and come back when you're friends again (or after you've gotten banned).  (C=

Sounds like a plan!
Yeah, it was more of a broad stroke comment.

There were some very negative people during the first three games.  I'm going to guess that there are going to be some overly optimistic people following these last three games.

I should definitely wait until the celebrations are done though to be a party pooper and as it was a more broad point, I should drop it into a journal post.

Dallas has been really bad in this game.  They've probobly had their D game.  The Blazers have their B game (too many TOs, offensive boards given up and FTs missed to call it the A game).  Really fortunate to draw Dallas on a night like this.

Martell didn't really play
He missed a couple shots but did well in other areas that dont' show stats.

No worries.

I loved that he hadn't scored, was passed the ball and didn't hesitate and passed to another blazer.

That extra passing ended up with a three and the blazers gaining more of a lead.
