Gameday Open Thread: Blazers vs Mavericks (OT)

The Portland Trail Blazers haven't played well tonight, but the Dallas Mavericks have been trying to give the game away. LaMarcus Aldridge hit a circus shot to tie the game with 12 seconds remaining, and Dirk missed a fadeaway at the buzzer. Hang out here and continue the conversation into overtime.. -- Tim

Gameday Open Thread: Blazers vs. Mavericks

This season never stops, does it? Today, the Portland Trail Blazers head to Dallas to play the defending NBA champion Mavericks (Early 5:40pm tip-off). Dirk and the Mavs are starting to play better, so if the Blazers want to win tonight, they can't play like they did last night. The Blazers have lost 20 of their last 25 games in Dallas, including the playoffs. Can they pull off the upset?

Injury Report: Nothing new for either team. Jason Kidd returned from injury last game. No word if Marcus Camby is improving from his bronchitis.

Gameday Open Thread: Blazers vs Hornets

The Blazers seem to be enjoying Mardi Gras a bit early, not bothering to show up for the first half against an undermanned New Orleans Hornets squad. Hang out here to see the inevitable Blazers comeback. -- Tim

Gameday Open Thread: Blazers vs. Hornets

Perhaps we'll shake off the doldrums tonight? The Portland Trail Blazers head to The Big Easy to play the New Orleans Hornets (Early 5:10pm tip-off). The Blazers obviously hope for a Big Easy win tonight after a few stinging home losses. Can the Blazers, featuring newly minted All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge, get back in the win column? [I sure hope so, because I'll be helping moderate the meltdown otherwise.]

Injury Report: Nothing new for the Blazers. The Hornets are still missing Eric Gordon, along with Carl Landry (sprained left knee), Jarrett Jack (bruised left knee) and, a late scratch, Chris Kaman (sprained left ankle, according to Jimmy Smith of the Times-Picayune).

Gameday Open Thread: Rockets vs. Blazers

The Blazers are stinking up the Rose Garden, en route to a 14 point halftime deficit against the Rockets. In the process, they're making Houston look like Finals contenders. Hang out here and hope it gets better in the second half.

Random fact: The Rockets and Blazers fought in the first round of the playoffs just a couple years ago. But only four players are still on their respective teams: Nicolas Batum, LaMarcus Aldridge, Luis Scola and Kyle Lowry. Otherwise, both teams are completely different.

[BTW we're aware of that fanpost problem on the right. The guys are working on it.]

Gameday Open Thread: Rockets vs. Blazers

Tonight, the Houston Rockets visit the Rose City to play the Portland Trail Blazers (7:10 tip-off). You know Portland would love to win this game, after losing Monday, and losing a winnable game in Houston a few weeks ago. Can the Blazers shake off the previous game, and win tonight?

Injury Report: Both Marcus Camby (bronchitis) and Raymond Felton (sprained foot) will start, according to the team. The Rockets are healthy. Based on my experiences with bronchitis, I wouldn't be surprised if Camby plays small minutes.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
