Howdy gang!
After all the dust had settled in this year's draft, we didn't bother trying to buy/trade for a pick. Now we can go back to a semi-normal draft where we get one pick in the first and one in the second.
I am going to assume the Blazers will return to the 2nd round and bow out similarly. Maybe not with as big margins of defeat as last year but I think more additions/subtractions need to take place to advance to the WCF. Therefore, I'm thinking somewhere around the low-to-mid 20s is where we will pick in the first round. So I choose:
#24: The Blazers may reach a bit with ALEX POYTHRESS, 6/'8 SF/PF Kentucky. Big, strong kid with 3-shooting ability and finishes well around the rim. Knock is mostly that he's not a good rebounder for his size and isn't dedicated but I feel he'll be better at that in 2014 and in his NBA career.
2nd round:
#54: The Blazers grab local product JOSEPH YOUNG, 6'2 PG Oregon. Had a great Junior season for the Ducks, averaging almost 19 a game and figures to improve in 2014.
Well, that's my take. What do you guys think we will do? Trade up? Trade down? Who will we take and why?
Fire Away!
