GUITARJUNK 8/20

Well, here it is folks, my guitar JD that I've been meaning to post for awhile. This one gave me a whole different set of challenges than the first, and I made an entirely different set of mistakes along the way. I am pretty pleased with the results but more importantly my friend who is now in possession of it loves-loves-loves it. This will likely be the last guitar of this type that I build for awhile. I do have another one in the planning stages, actually it was in the planning stages before my first one that I built and is something of a yin to that one's yang. It will be evocative of real old west relic, to pair with the old Mexico feel I tried to infer with La Llorona, my first. Anyways though I digress.

As I said, I'm going to be moving to a different style guitar, one which will be a bit more simple design wise and construction wise. I'm turning some of my focus towards actually making some of the hardware for guitars, but that's in the design phase right now and I'm not sure if I'll be able to incorporate those into the builds I have lined up but I see this simplification process as an opportunity to move into more of a production setting with the guitars. I really like doing these but they take too long right now for me to think about making too much of a living with them. Anyways, there will be more to share about these in the coming months and years. For now I present to you, my latest creation, tentatively called "Regan" after the timeless character from the horror classic, "The Exorcist".
