This morning I proposed a sign-and-trade between the Blazers and the Cavaliers that 41% of you said was "too good to be true." The deal would have sent Meyers Leonard, Victor Claver and Allen Crabbe to Cleveland in exchange for Spencer Hawes. Since so many of you felt that Cleveland wouldn't be getting fair value, or that they could DEFINITELY do better elsewhere, I decided to tweak the offer.
As much as it would hurt me, I could substitute Will Barton for Allen Crabbe in the deal. The team would clear development minutes for both CJ McCollum and Crabbe by shipping Barton. The Cavs, who just traded Alonzo Gee and will be losing Luol Deng and CJ Miles in free agency, could use The People's Champ.
If Hawes was really in demand, would the Cavs have been able to get him for two second-round draft picks? Granted, he was on an expiring contract; but the market for him seems pretty soft.
