Kevin Martin-worth the (lack of) defense?

The Blazers bench needs work. It was 27th in the league in defensive efficiency and dead last in offensive efficiency this year. Most BEdgers (including myself) have categorized the Blazers' bench needs into 3 more specific needs: a backup point guard, a wing scorer, and another big man. I personally believe the big man is of the greatest importance, followed by a wing scorer and then a backup point guard. For this reason I am fond of the idea of going after Spencer Hawes, Emeka Okafor, Marcin Gortat, or the best possible center who will take the MLE and resigning Mo Williams then using trades and the BAE to try to add wing scorers.

Now, onto the purpose of this post: Kevin Martin. Kevin Martin is an excellent scorer, above average rebounder, a very good free throw shooter, and a notoriously bad defender. He is basically James Harden but worse and 31 years old. Last year Martin posted numbers of 19.1 PPG, 3 RPG, 1.8 APG, 1 steal per game, 89.1% FT on 4.5 attempts per game, and 38.7% 3P on 4.4 attempts per game all in 32 MPG. Here is his shotchart: http://stats.nba.com/playerShotchart.html?PlayerID=2755

I think Martin could be good for the Blazers despite his bad defense. Martin could probably be had for cheap-the Blazers could most likely retain Barton, TRob, and their 2015 pick and he would give them a solid scorer off the bench and hopefully other trades and free agent signings would allow him to be surrounded by good defenders.

Finally, no fanpost by me would be complete without some hypothetical trades so here they go:

#1) http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=qbqytto

Blazers get: Kevin Martin and Avery Bradley (on the trade machine Joel Anthony is just a placeholder for Bradley's larger contract he would get via S&T)

Celtics get: Kevin Love, Dorrell Wright, and Mo Williams (S&T)

TWolves get: Jeff Green, Jared Sullinger, Thomas Robinson, Will Barton, #17 pick, Blazers 2015 first round pick (protected), and Nets' 2016 first round pick (unprotected)

#2) http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lplqdua

Blazers get: Kevin Martin

TWolves get: CJ McCollum, Meyers Leonard, and Victor Claver

#3) http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=pjptcdn

Blazers get: Kevin Martin

TWolves get: Dorrell Wright and CJ McCullom

So what do you guys think?
